UConn Head Coach Geno Auriemma

On Chris Dailey being inducted into UConn’s Huskies of Honor:

“Putting her up on that wall, puts her next to, not above and not under, next to all the people that wouldn’t be on that wall if it wasn’t for her. I think it’s very appropriate. (If you asked) every one of those players up there, there is a pretty good chance they would tell you they wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t for a bunch of stuff CD did.”

On Katie Lou Samuelson:

“She’s talented enough to be able to do a lot of things that good basketball players do. The fact that she makes shots is one thing, but she made a couple shots to get us going when no one else could make them. That’s even more important than the fact that you can make them, it’s when you can make them.”

On senior day:

“Chris (Dailey) and I take tremendous pride in how we raised them. We can only do so much. They get here as 18 year-olds we can only do so much in the next four years. I would say, more times than not, we get it right.”

UConn Associate Head Coach Chris Dailey

On emotions of being inducted into UConn’s Huskies of Honor:

“You can’t even describe it because I wasn’t expecting it. (Geno) doesn’t keep secrets very well so I didn’t know anything and he didn’t say anything. Usually you think someone would blab and it’s usually him. To see your name up, it’s emotional. I know my parents would be very proud. I just know they are upstairs smiling down and rooting for the Huskies. You think about a lot of things and that certainly was on my mind. It’s difficult to put into words.”

Tulane Head Coach Lisa Stockton

On team getting off to a strong start despite the emotions of the day for UConn:

"I felt like our team was in a good frame of mind going into the game. We played so poorly the last time we played them. I feel like they knew that they could play better. We weren't in there for all that (Senior Day festivities). The nice thing for us is that we were able to just get on the court and play basketball."

On what Kolby Morgan’s play means for the team heading into the tournament:

"She's a great player. For us, having a player that can do so many things like her, it's really valuable. She's really had a great February. This team, we're very young and I think we are starting to play better."

On how this game helps the team’s confidence:

"I think it's good. We lost a game against Temple that was close but we played very aggressive and played well. Coming in here and playing the first half we did, I think it shows a lot of guts and a lot of confidence."

Senior guard Moriah Jefferson

On the slow start in the first quarter:

“It felt like everyone that shot the ball couldn’t knock it in. We shot a crazy low percentage, I don't even want to repeat it.”

On the emotions of senior day:

“It's been crazy. It didn't really feel real being senior day, I guess you could say. Standing there with Stewie, Morgan and Briana, we were like this does not feel real but it was exciting. It was a good experience, but now it's over and it's time to move on.”

Redshirt junior forward Morgan Tuck

On the team’s 0-12 start from the field:

“It's hard to explain sometimes. It doesn't happen often, but sometimes it’s not there. We were trying to run our offense and it just wasn't working, we weren't doing the right things. I think sometimes it's just a lot going on and that's what it looks like.”

On the emotions of senior day during the game:

“I think those emotions were still there, even though we hold them in as we’re going through the ceremony. I think it's hard to hide your emotion when you’re playing because it's involving your whole body and your focus has to be there and everything.”

Senior forward Breanna Stewart

On what was going through her mind during her cold start:

“It got to the point where I was like ‘I don't know what's happening. What is going on?’ because the shot felt good. Everything felt good, and it either went in and out or missed completely. I think it might be a curse for the seniors on senior day. I was saying to the other seniors before the game that it's good we only have one senior day.”
