Practice Day Quotes - Duquesne (March 18)

March 18, 2016

2016 NCAA Division I women’s basketball championship
First Round · Seton Hall vs. Duquesne
Gampel Pavilion · Storrs, Conn.
Deva’Nyar Workman, Guard
On preparing for the tournament
“Focus on what we need to do to get ready for Seton Hall. We need to pay attention to details that coaches are telling us to do.”
Emilie Gronas, Guard
On the Tournament experience
“For us it’s a one time opportunity because we’re all seniors. We’re just trying to let it all sink in, but also be focused and stay together as a team. We’re going to try and focus on ourselves rather than everybody else.”
April Robinson, Guard
On preparing for Seton Hall
“We’re just going to run our game plan, we’re going to try and run a lot of sets that kind of keeps them guessing. We know they like to switch one through four. Basically just run a lot of our sets and follow the gameplan.”
Dan Burt, Head Coach
On the difference between this game and any other game
“Every game is a big game to us in that sense. If its against an opponent that has a higher RPI or a higher profile I can understand that, but we literally treat every game exactly the same, we’ve treated this game tomorrow exactly the same. What Seton Hall has inside and how physical they are you can expect to see Angela Staffileno play, maybe a little bit more than Bri Thomas.”
On adjustments for Seton Hall
“The two biggest things are that we have to defend the ball screens correctly, we’re going to see ball screens all over the floor all night, then everyone talks about their guards and how they can score, they’re going to give us a lot of trouble with penetration. I’m really concerned about their post players because their post are big and physical.”
