UConn vs. Philadelphia, Women's Basketball (11-5-13) Game-Day Quotes: Geno Auriemma
On Morgan Tuck:
"Same thing I always think of Morgan. I think Morgan is great. She does all the things good basketball players do and she's being doing that since she got here last year. She passes the ball, she dribbles it, she plays good defense, she rebounds it. I don't know, I never have any complaints against Morgan...ever."
On Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis' eight assists:
"She's been really good at practice the last week or so. She is just getting to be a better basketball player by seeing more things then just shots. I think the more you see things, the better you get. At one point she came over to the sideline and I said I think you're playing great...and she was."
On the team's ability to pass:
"I've said this ever since I started coaching that having three really good passers on the floor is really key. You have four, that's unusual, and for us I think we have four and a half really good passers. That's really unusual for most teams. That's what makes it really difficult to defend us now. Of course that could change with the competition on Saturday and Monday. I think a lot of what you're seeing right now is good passing because it's contagious just like bad passing is."
On talented players not being nationally recognized at Connecticut:
"I don't know. I never have those discussions with my team and they don't have those discussions with me. Those kids come to Connecticut, to here, to play with other really good players. Whatever happens happens. The kind of players we get, if they wanted to be All-Americans and take thirty-five shots a game, they would go somewhere else. When they are here, not everybody is going to make All-American. It just happens. I don't talk to them about it, they don't talk to me about it. It's not something that I spend any time worrying about."
