STORRS, Conn. -Six Huskies recorded double-digit points as the No. 1/1 UConn women's basketball team closed out exhibition play with a 119-56 win over Division II preseason No. 1 Ashland at Gampel Pavilion on Sunday afternoon.

Kia Nurse led the way with 21 points on 7-7 shooting in 17 minutes while Napheesa Collier and Katie Lou Samuelson each contributed 19 points.

Gabby Williams and Azura Stevens each recorded a double-double with Williams scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Stevens delivered with 16 points, 11 boards and four blocked shots in 21 minutes.

The Huskies sprinted out to a 45-11 lead in the opening quarter. UConn turned over the Eagles 18 times and converted 26 points off those opportunities in the first 20 minutes to take a 79-21 halftime lead.

The Huskies relied heavily on their bench in the second half with 29 of their 40 second half points coming from the reserve group. Overall, freshman Megan Walker scored 14 points on 6-11 shooting and chipped in five rebounds.

The Huskies led by as many as 68 points in the fourth quarter and shot 65.4 percent from the field to close out their second exhibition game.

The Huskies open the regular season on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 1:30 p.m. against Stanford in Columbus, Ohio on ESPN.
