STORRS, Conn. - The No. 3 UConn women’s basketball team is back in action on Wednesday when they play at Georgetown (10-4) at 7:30 p.m. The Huskies (12-1, 0-1 BIG EAST) are coming off of their first loss of the season after falling to Notre Dame, 73-72, in the BIG EAST opener on Saturday. UConn is a perfect 4-0 when playing on the road in the 2012-13 season.
Wednesday’s game will be televised regionally on SNY with Andrw Catalon and Meghan Culmo on the call. It will also be broadcasted live on the UConn Radio Network with Bob Joyce and Debbie Fiske.
The Huskies and Hoyas have met 50 times with UConn dominating the all-time series owning a 44-6 all-time mark. The Huskies have won 27 in-a-row against Georgetown.
Leading the way for Connecticut is sophomore Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis (16.9 ppg, 5.3 rpg) who poured in 23 points in last year’s 80-38 win over Georgetown. Also finding success against the Hoyas throughout their career are juniors Bria Hartley and Stefanie Dolson. Hartley averages 12.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists when taking on Georgetown, while Dolson averages 10.8 points and 7.8 rebounds against the conference foe.
