STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women’s basketball team returns to the XL Center with a 14-1 record and 2-1 mark in the BIG EAST as they welcome Louisville (14-3, 2-1 BIG EAST) for a 9 p.m. contest on Tuesday. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network and broadcasted live on the UConn Radio Network.
Leading the team is sophomore forward Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis who is averaging 16.9 and 5.0 rebounds per game. Mosqueda-Lewis has made 42 3-pointers and is shooting a team-best 50.6 percent from behind the arc. Her 50.6 percent is first in the BIG EAST and second in the nation.
Louisville has three Cardinals scoring in double-digits with Shoni Schimmel leading the squad with 12.7 points per game, while Monique Reed is scoring 11.1 points per game and Sara Hammond is averaging 11 points per game and pulls in a team-high 6.5 rebounds per game.
Connecticut is 11-1 all-time vs. Louisville and has won 11-straight against the Cardinals. Bria Hartley has averaged 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in two victories over the Cardinals over the last two years. Hartley scored 24 points and was 10-16 from the field in 40 minutes of action against U of L on January 15, 2011 at the XL Center. Caroline Doty is averaging 13.0 points and is shooting 57.1 percent from beyond the 3-point arc in three career games against the Cards.
