STORRS, Conn.-The No. 3 Huskies are set to travel to Chicago on Saturday, Jan. 21, for a showdown against the No. 21 Blue Demons in front of a sold out McGrath-Phillips Arena at 8 p.m.

Connecticut is currently 1-6 (5-1 BIG EAST) after routing No. 24 North Carolina, 86-35, and defeating conference opponent Cincinnati by 43 points this week.

Riding a four-game win streak, the Huskies look to break DePaul’s 28-game home win streak that the Blue Demons have established. UConn has won the last eight games against DePaul with an 8-1 all-time mark, including winning three at McGrath-Phillips Arena.

The Blue Demons are 15-4 overall with a 3-2 mark in the BIG EAST as junior guard Anna Martin leads the team with 19.2 points per game, while Brittany Hrynko averages 10.6 and Jasmine Penny with 10 per game. DePaul is outscoring opponents by 12 points and holding them to a 38.5 percentage from the field.

The Huskies, who are 39-23 all-time on the road against ranked opponents, have been led by sophomore guard Bria Hartley who is averaging 14.9 points per game, while senior Tiffany Hayes is second on the team in scoring (14.7 ppg) and in rebounding (5.6 rpg).


 

 

The 8 p.m. contest will be televised on CPTV and broadcasted live on UConn Radio Network.
