    No. 3 UConn Rolls Past Villanova, 72-49
    Tiffany Hayes scored 14 of her 22 points in the second half to lead No. 2 Connecticut to a 72-49 win over Villanova on Saturday. Rachel Roberts scored 16 points for the Wildcats, who got within five points when two baskets by Emily Leer made it 41-36, but Connecticut (14-2 overall, 4-1 Big East) answered by scoring 12 of the next 15 points to retake control of the game. Hayes scored 10 straight points during a four-minute stretch to make it 58-42 Connecticut with less than six minutes to play.

    STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's basketball team returns to action in Hartford on Tuesday when they welcome Villanova to the XL Center for a 7 p.m. tip. The game will be televised on SNY with Andrew Catalon, Meg Culmo and Kerith Burke on the call.

    The No. 3 Huskies enter Tuesday's game with an 18-1 overall record and 5-1 mark in the BIG EAST, while Villanova owns a 16-3 record and is 5-1 in league play.

    The Wildcats are led by Laura Sweeney who averages 13.2 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, while Rachel Roberts is scoring 11.2 points per game.

    The Huskies are 35-17 all-time against Villanova and have won nine consecutive contests against the Wildcats. Connecticut lost the first 14 games in the series and is 35-3 since. Junior guard Bria Hartley has averaged 11.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in her career against Villanova and freshman forward Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis scored 16 points and had three steals in her one game against the Wildcats.

    Mosqueda-Lewis is leading the squad with 16.8 points per game and is averaging 5.7 rebounds per game, while this week's BIG EAST Freshman of the Week Breanna Stewart is scoring 14.5 points per game and leads the team with 7.1 rebounds per contest.
