STORRS, Conn.- The No. 3 UConn women’s basketball squad returns to Storrs on Tuesday night when they welcome Marquette (11-10, 3-5 BIG EAST) for a 7 p.m. contest. The Huskies enter the game with a 20-1 overall record and 7-1 mark in league action after defeating St. John’s 71-65 on Saturday.
The Huskies and Golden Eagles are meeting for the second time in less than a month as Connecticut posted a dominating road victory of 85-51 in Milwaukee on January 12. UConn had four Huskies register double-digits in the January win with Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis scoring 24 points and Stefanie Dolson tallied 20 points.
UConn is a perfect 8-0 all-time against Marquette with all but one victory coming by double-digits. Connecticut defeated Marquette by only four points, 52-48, on February 3, 2007. The Huskies’ other seven victories over the Golden Eagles have been by an average of 30.3 points per game.
Tuesday’s contest will be televised on SNY with Andrew Catalon, Meg Culmo and Kerith Burke on the call. The game will also be broadcasted live on the UConn Radio Network with Bob Joyce and Debbie Fiske.
