The UConn women’s basketball team prepares for a midweek clash in the Sunshine State visiting American Athletic Conference foe UCF on Wednesday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the CFE Arena and the game will be broadcast on SNY and the UConn/IMG Sports Network.

Top-Ranked UConn wins 100th straight regular-season game
Azura Stevens came off the bench to score 19 points, leading top-ranked UConn to its 100th consecutive regular-season win on Tuesday, 80-44 over UCF. Stevens hit nine of her 13 shots and grabbed 10 rebounds for Connecticut (14-0, 4-0 American), for her fourth double-double of the season and 28th of her career. Korneila Wright scored 17 points for Central Florida (11-6, 3-1). UConn, which came in averaging 91 points a game, led just 32-19 at halftime. It was the Huskies lowest-scoring first half this season.

Connecticut (22-0, 10-0 American) kicked off the final month of regular season play with a dominating 106-65 win against league rival Cincinnati on Feb. 4. Junior Napheesa Collier scored 25 points and senior Kia Nurse chipped in with 23 points, giving the top-ranked Huskies their 80th-consecutive conference victory.

Junior Katie Lou Samuelson is boasting a team-best 17.2 points per game to lead a group of six players averaging double-figures. Nurse (15.8 ppg) continues to lead the nation in three-point field goal shooting percentage at 50.0 percent, connecting on 61 of her 122 attempts from downtown. As a team, UConn leads the nation in scoring offense with 91.3 points per game.

Scouting The Knights



UCF (16-7) welcomes the Huskies riding a five-game win streak. The Knights recently improved to 8-2 in conference action following a 61-41 victory against Memphis on Feb. 3. Zakiya Saunders is notching 14.4 points to lead the squad in scoring while Korneila Write (10.1 ppg), is dishing out a team-high 94 assists and forcing a team-best 58 steals.

In the first meeting with UCF this season, Azura Stevens scored a game-high 19 points as the Huskies routed the Knights 80-44 at Gampel Pavilion. Overall, UConn is 7-0 all-time against UCF, including 3-0 in Orlando.
