STORRS, Conn. – The No. 1 University of Connecticut women’s basketball team rounds out regular season play on Monday, Feb. 29 when it hosts #21/20 USF at Gampel Pavilion. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN2 with radio coverage on the UConn/IMG Radio Network.

No. 1 UConn Tops No. 22 USF, 75-59
Morgan Tuck had 22 points and 12 rebounds, helping No. 1 UConn overcome cold shooting to pull away to a 75-59 victory over No. 22 South Florida on Sunday night.

UConn (28-0, 17-0 The American) celebrated the contributions of its senior class with an 80-40 win over Tulane on Saturday. Senior Breanna Stewart (North Syracuse, N.Y.), who was one of four Huskies honored as part of the team’s pregame Senior Day ceremonies, posted 20 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Katie Lou Samuelson (Huntington Beach, Calif.) tied her career-high with 21 points for the second-straight game.

On Saturday, senior Moriah Jefferson (Glenn Heights, Texas) became only the second Husky to tally 600 career assists and 300 career steals, joining Jennifer Rizzotti.

USF enters the matchup with a 21-7 overall record, including 14 wins in 17 conference tilts.

The Huskies have won all 17 of its previous contests with the Bulls, including a 75-59 victory in Tampa on Jan. 10 at the Sun Dome.

UConn has been dominant at home in Gampel, holding a 267-7 record since the 1993-94 season. The Huskies have won 157 of its last 161 games in their on-campus facility and is 310-19 all-time in Storrs.


 

 

Connecticut has an all-time record of 224-61 in games against Top-25 Associated Press ranked teams.
