STORRS, Conn. – Junior guard Kia Nurse (Hamilton, Ont.) was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team, as announced by the organization Thursday.
This marks the first time in her career that Nurse has made the Academic All-America team, after earning Academic All-District the past two consecutive seasons. She is the eighth different Husky player to earn the prestigious accolade. In total, UConn players have earned 13 nods to the Academic All-America squad.
The Hamilton, Ontario native boasts a 3.44 GPA as a liberal arts and sciences major. Nurse is one of seven juniors among the group of 15 honorees to receive the recognition.
