STORRS, Conn. – In a rematch of the 2016 NCAA national championship game, the No. 1 seeded Huskies will face Syracuse in the NCAA second round on Monday, March 20 at Gampel Pavilion. Monday’s tipoff is at 6:30 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN2.

Students should pick up their free tickets on Monday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the Athletic Ticket Office, located in the breezeway between Gampel and the Greer Field House. Students can also pick up a ticket beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Gampel box office, located at the North Entrance near the Husky dog statue. UConn ID is required and there is a limit of one ticket per student.
UConn (33-0) advanced to the second round after taking down Albany 116-55 on Saturday at Gampel Pavilion. Junior Kia Nurse (Hamilton, Ont.) and sophomore Napheesa Collier (O’Fallon, Mo.) each finished with 24 points.
Collier and junior Gabby Williams (Sparks, Nev.) each finished with a double-double after bringing down 10 rebounds apiece and recording 20-plus points each.
The Huskies are 38-12 all-time against Syracuse and have won 24-straight and 31 of the last 32 games against the Orange. The Huskies have won 34-straight against ACC teams dating back to an 82- 76 loss at No. 2 UNC on Jan. 15, 2007.
The No. 8 seed Syracuse (22-10) advanced past Iowa State in the NCAA first round on Saturday, halting the Cyclones 85-65 at Gampel Pavilion. Senior Brittany Sykes led the Orange with 28 points and freshman Gabby Cooper shot 8-15 from three-point range for 24 points.
The winner of Monday’s matchup will advance to the NCAA Regional Semifinal, which will be played at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Conn.
