STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's basketball team spent Monday preparing for Purdue as the Huskies will face the Boilermakers on Tuesday night in NCAA Tournament second round action.
UConn (33-1) and Purdue (21-11) will collide on Tuesday in a 7:05 p.m. (ET) tip on ESPN at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs, Conn.
No. 1 seed UConn advances to the second round of the tournament for the 18th straight season following its 75-39 victory over No. 16 seed Hartford in the first round on Sunday. The No. 9 seed Boilermakers defeated No. 8 Kansas State 53-45 in the opening round to earn a spot in the second round match-up.
Tuesday night's second round winner will move on to the Philadelphia Regional semifinals on Sunday, March 27. The Sweet 16 contests will take place at the Liacouras Center.
Fans should be advidsed that tomorrow's game is a full national broadcast on ESPN and ESPN HD. The other three games in the 7 p.m. time slot will be shown locally and via "whip-around coverage" on ESPN2 and ESPN2 HD. The game will also be shown in its entirety on ESPN3.com.
