STORRS, Conn. (April 23, 2012) - USA Basketball announced that former Husky Asjha Jones was selected as the final member of the 2012 Olympic team on Monday afternoon. Jones will join five former UConn players as Sue Bird, Swin Cash, Tina Charles, Maya Moore and Diana Taurasi were all named to the 2012 U.S. Olympic Women's basketball team on March 30. In addition to the six athletes, the team will be coached by Connecticut Head Coach Geno Auriemma.
Jones, who currently plays for the Connecticut Sun, had a stellar four-year career for UConn. She tallied a 136-9 overall record en route to winning two national championships, reaching four NCAA Tournaments, and won four BIG EAST regular season and tournament crowns.
Connecticut has the most players on the 2012 team with Tennessee and Louisiana State each having two players competing in London this summer.
