Tuck Nets 23 Points in Team USA's 99-26 Win Over the Dominican Republic

Gurabo, Puerto Rico - Incoming University of Connecticut freshman Morgan Tuck poured in a game-high 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting and classmate Breanna Stewart added 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting to lead the USA Basketball U18 National Team to a 99-26 victory over the Dominican Republic on Wednesday evening in the opening game of the FIBA Americas U18 Championship. 

The third incoming Husky that made the U18 National Team, Moriah Jefferson, scored eight points on 3-of-6 shooting and dished-out two assists while recording four steals. 

Team USA led by only two points, 15-13, after the first quarter but the US scored the first 31 points of the second quarter and outscored the Dominican Republic 84-13 over the final three quarters.

The US will square-off against Argentina tomorrow in the second of three preliminary-round contests.
