TRIESTE, Italy – Following a day that consisted of a lot of time on a bus, the UConn women’s basketball team spent Saturday seeing the sights of the beautiful towns of Trieste, Italy, Piran, Slovenia and Portoroz, Slovenia.
The Huskies started the day with breakfast at the hotel in Trieste and then made the short and scenic bus trip across the Slovenian border to Portoroz for time at the beach and some lunch. After a couple hours in Portoroz, the team took another short bus ride to the small fishing village of Piran for sightseeing and shopping.
UConn then returned to Trieste for some free time and dinner.
The team will play its final game of the trip on Sunday, August 20 when the Huskies square-off against Celje, winners of the Slovenian and Adriatic League.
