STORRS, Conn. - Junior guard Caroline Doty underwent a successful surgical procedure on her left knee to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament on Tuesday, August 31 at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Doty will be forced to sit out the entire 2010-11 season and will have two years of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2011-12 campaign.

Last season, the Doylestown, Pa. native started 38 of 39 contests and averaged 6.8 points per game as the Huskies went undefeated and won the national championship.

"I am very pleased that the procedure on Caroline's knee was a success," head coach Geno Auriemma said. "She has been through quite a bit in her young career and I have no doubt she will work extremely hard to overcome this as well. We look forward to her being ready to go for the start of next season."

Doty did not play her senior season in high school because of a torn ACL suffered while playing soccer and her freshman year at UConn was also cut short due to a torn ACL.
