STORRS, Conn. - Less than 500 tickets remain for the No. 2 University of women's basketball team's showdown with No. 7/6 Notre Dame, which is set for Saturday, January 5 at 4 p.m. at Gampel Pavilion. The Huskies are off to a 1-0 start after defeating the College of Charleston in the 2012-13 regular-season opener. Connecticut will face a stiff road test at Texas A&M on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. EST before traveling to St. Thomas, U.S.V.I to compete in the 2012 Paradise Jam. Sunday's game in College Station, Texas will be televised by ESPN2 while all three of UConn's Paradise Jam contests will be broadcast live on SNY.

The Irish are also off to a 1-0 start after defeating Ohio State, 57-51, on November 9 in Charleston, S.C.

UConn is 29-8 all-time against Notre Dame but the series has been far more competitive of late. Following a 12-game UConn winning streak in the series, the Irish have won four of the last five games between the two sides, including an 83-75 overtime victory in last year's Final Four.
