St. Thomas, USVI- The Connecticut women’s basketball team will kick off a three-game stint in as many days on Thursday at the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam at the UVI Sports and Fitness Center. The Huskies will face Wake Forest on Thanksgiving evening at 6 p.m., Marist on Friday at 8:15 p.m. and conclude the Jam on Saturday at 8:15 p.m. against Purdue.
The No. 2 Huskies enter the regular-season tournament with a 2-0 record after downing No. 16 Texas A&M, 81-50, behind the stellar performance of junior Stefanie Dolson who tied her career-best with 24 points. Dolson now leads UConn with 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, while sophomore Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis also is averaging 17.5 points per contest.
Connecticut’s last visit to the Paradise Jam was in 2007 where they went 3-0 defeating Duke, Old Dominion and Stanford.
The Huskies have won 46-consecutive games in regular-season tournaments. The last loss UConn suffered in a regular-season tournament came at the hands of Vanderbilt on December 29, 1992 in the Hilton Head Super Shootout.
