Nov. 25, 2013

STORRS, Conn. – Senior center Stefanie Dolson has been selected as the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.  Dolson is the second-straight Husky selected as classmate Bria Hartley earned the honor last week.

The Port Jervis, N.Y. native averaged 18.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 5.8 assists while shooting 66.0 percent from the floor in a week in which she posted the second triple-double in UConn history and led the Huskies to a 4-0 week.

Dolson started the week off by notching the school's first triple double since Laura Lishness accomplished the feat on March 5 1989.  Dolson's triple-double came in 26-point, 14-rebound, 11-assist fashion and she was 10-11 from the floor while turning the ball over only once vs. the Ducks.

She followed that up with a 23-point, 10-reound performance in Friday's win over Boston University and notched her third double-double of the week in Sunday's victory over St. Bonaventure.  Dolson scored 16-points and hauled in 15 boards in 30-minutes of action against the Bonnies.

Dolson is third on the team at 14.0 points per game and leads the squad at 10.3 rebounds per contest.  The Huskies are back in action on Sunday, December 1 when the team travels to Springfield, Mass. to take on Ohio State.  Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. and the contest will be televised nationally on ESPN2.
