STORRS, Conn. - The No. 2 Huskies will return to action at the XL Center on Wednesday evening when the squad welcomes Colgate for a 7 p.m. tipoff. Connecticut comes into the contest sporting a 5-0 record following a successful trip to the Virgin Islands that resulted in a Paradise Jam Tournament title.
Leading the way for UConn is freshman center Breanna Stewart, named to this week's BIG EAST Honor Roll, who is averaging team-bests of 17.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. The Syracuse, N.Y. native has registered three 20-point performances in five games and notched her first collegiate double-double against Marist.
UConn, a perfect 3-0 all-time against Colgate, has four Huskies averaging double-figures. Joining Stewart in the double-digit club is sophomore Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis is second on the squad with 16.2 points per game, junior Stefanie Dolson is averaging 12 points per game and freshman Morgan Tuck with 10.6 points per game.
The game will be televised regionally on SNY with Andrew Catalon and Meg Culmo on the call. It will also be broadcasted live on the UConn Radio Network with Bob Joyce and Debbie Fiske.
