HARTFORD, Conn. – The No. 2/2 University of Connecticut women’s basketball team will play its first regular season game at the XL Center on Tuesday, Nov. 29 when the Huskies host Chattanooga. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
Tuesday’s game will be broadcast on SNY with radio coverage available on the UConn/IMG Radio Network.
UConn boasts an all-time mark of 155-13 in games played at the XL Center and has won 80 of its last 83 games played in Hartford.
The Huskies are undefeated 4-0 to start the 2016-17 season with most recent win over Dayton. Sophomore Katie Lou Samuelson (Huntington Beach, Calif.) had a career-high in points for a second consecutive game after she put up 29 points in UConn’s 98-65 win over the Flyers.
Samuelson, who had 28 points in UConn’s previous game at LSU, shot 10-17 from the floor and 50 percent from the three-point line in addition to grabbing six rebounds and dishing out six assists. Junior Gabby Williams (Sparks, Nev.) recorded her first double-double of the season against Dayton after she tied her single-game high with 19 points and pulled down 11 rebounds on top of a career-best five assists.
Chattanooga currently possesses a 3-5 overall record and is riding a three-game loss streak after dropping decisions to No. 4 Louisville, Green Bay and Maine. UConn is the fourth ranked opponent that Chattanooga will have faced this season. The Mocs are 0-3 against ranked teams this year, recording losses to No. 16 Florida, ARV Indiana, who was ranked No. 23 at the time, and No. 4 Louisville.
The Huskies defeated the Mocs in the only previous meeting between the two teams last year on the road in the Volunteer State.
