Fresh off a thrilling Top-3 win against No. 3 Notre Dame, the Huskies (7-0) are searching for their 42nd-straight road win and are looking to improve to 15-1 in the all-time series against the Blue Demons.
Preseason All-American Katie Lou Samuelson (Huntington, Beach, Calif.) is coming off a team-high 18 points in her return against the Irish on Sunday afternoon. Redshirt-junior Azura Stevens (Raleigh, N.C.) scored 10 of her 17 points in the fourth quarter, to help UConn top Notre Dame, 80-71, in the Jimmy V Classic.
Four players are averaging double-figures for the Huskies, including a team-best 17.0 points from Samuelson. Stevens is posting 14.6 points per game and a team-high 9.3 rebounds per game, as UConn is out scoring its opponents by an average of 25.3 points.
On December 3, senior Kia Nurse (Hamilton, Ontario) broke the school record for consecutive three-pointers made. She hit her 11th in a row midway through the first quarter against Notre Dame to break the tie she held with Samuelson and Caroline Doty. The NCAA record is 14.
DePaul (6-2) leads the nation in three-pointers per game (13.6), and is third in scoring offense (92.0) and assists per game (22.8). Ashton Millender leads all Blue Demons tallying 15.4 points per game as six players are averaging double-figures.
