STORRS, Conn. – The top-ranked University of Connecticut women’s basketball team looks to make history once again as Head Coach Geno Auriemma has the opportunity to eclipse the 1,000-win plateau against Oklahoma on Tuesday, December 19 in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Holiday Showcase at the Mohegan Sun Arena. The contest is slated to begin at 7 p.m. and will broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network (CBSSN).

The duo recorded their 999th win on Friday, December 8 with a 103-69 rout of DePaul in Chicago, Ill. All but one of UConn’s (8-0) victories has been by 18 points or more. Junior forward Katie Lou Samuelson (17.8 points per game) leads a strong group of six Huskies averaging double-figures. Red-shirt junior forward Aruza Stevens is grabbing 9.3 boards per game to pace the squad while chipping in with 14.8 points of her own.
Oklahoma (5-5) enters Saturday’s tilt fresh off a pair of back-to-back wins. Vionise Pierre-Louis headlines the offense with 16.2 points and 8.9 boards per game. Connecticut looks to stay perfect against the Sooners as the Huskies own a 10-0 advantage in the all-time series.
