    Connecticut Picked to Win 2010-11 BIG EAST Regular-Season Title
    The University of Connecticut, the two-time defending NCAA Champion and the four-time defending conference champion, was picked to win the 2010-11 BIG EAST women's basketball regular-season title. The unanimous selection was made by the league's 16 head coaches, who were not permitted to select their own teams. Connecticut has claimed 16 league championships, 18 regular-season titles and has won both titles in the same season 14 times, all during the past 29 years of BIG EAST women's basketball. Jodi Rell announced on Monday that the skies over Hartford will shine with blue and white Husky pride on Tuesday, December 21 as the UConn women's basketball team attempts to win its 89th-consecutive game.     The BIG EAST Conference announced its postseason honors on Thursday and senior forward Maya Moore and junior guard Tiffany Hayes have each been named to the All-BIG EAST First Team while freshman Bria Hartley and Stefanie Dolson were voted onto the All-BIG EAST Rookie Team.     No. 1 Huskies Easily Advance to NCAA Second Round, Dispatch Hawks, 75-39

    The Huskies took to a familiar script, routing a first-round opponent in the NCAA women's basketball tournament.

    Stefanie Dolson scored all 12 of her points in the first half to lead a balanced Connecticut offense, and the top-seeded Huskies beat Hartford 75-39 on Sunday. (read more)
