    The overtime goal marked the fourth time this season in which Aird has netted a game-clinching goal in extra time for the Huskies.

    The win, which marked the Huskies' first game action since Oct. 1, improved UConn's overall record to 11-1, while Albany slips to 7-9.

    The two teams opened the contest by battling to a scoreless draw for the first 55 minutes before Albany's Michelle Simpson scored to give the Great Danes a 1-0 advantage at 51:45.

    Senior Jennifer Kleinhans (Mannheim, Germany) responded for Connecticut with her second goal of the season at 54:32 to knot the contest at 1-1 and send the game into overtime.

    Aird's goal marked her team-leading 10th of the season, which includes a total of seven game-winning scores.

    UConn prevailed despite being out-shot by Albany 11-10.  Both teams attempted six penalty corners.

    The Huskies return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 15 when they play host to Northeastern at the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex beginning at 7:00 p.m.
