Paul Caddy Named Assistant Coach For 2011-12 USA U21

STORRS, Conn. – The University of Connecticut’s associate field hockey coach Paul Caddy was named an assistant coach for the 2011-12 USA U21 team. Caddy will be entering his 12th season with the Huskies after concluding the 2011 season with a trip to the NCAA Final Four in Louisville, Ky. Caddy’s primary focuses with the Huskies are defense and player and team development, including technical and tactical advancements.

Caddy has assisted the United States U-16 National Team and was a member of the New England High Performance coaching staff that captured the 2008 National Championship. His New England High Performance team placed fifth in 2011.

Caddy will head to San Diego, Calif. on January 19 for the U21 training camp. The Head Coach of the USA team will be Nick Conway, while the other two assistants are Duke head coach Pam Bustin and Cal head Coach Shellie Onstead. The U21 team will play a series of invitationals in England in the month of April.  

Also featured on the USA roster will be sophomore Marie Elena Bolles and freshman Chrissy Davidson. Bolles was second on the team in points with 36 as she had 12 goals and 12 assists. Davidson saw action in 15 of UConn’s games on the road to the Final Four and finished the season with four points on two goals and two assists.
