Field Hockey Inks Three NLI's

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut field hockey team has received three signed National Letters of Intent as announced by Head Coach Nancy Stevens. Three freshmen, Lindsay Dickinson, Liz Romano and Maddy Wray, are to join a UConn squad that is coming off its third national championship in five years, finishing the 2017 season with a perfect 23-0 record.

The trio is set to join one of the most elite Division I programs in the country. The Huskies have won 34 BIG EAST Championships (17 Regular Season Titles and 17 Tournament Championships), made 29 NCAA tournament appearances, been to 15 Final Fours and won five National Titles.

Before UConn: Member of the 2018 U19 USA Field Hockey Team ... invited to the USA Junior National Camp (2017) ... STX Select Selection  ... competed in four years of varsity field hockey at Villa Maria Academy ... led her team to two PIAA State Championships (2014, 2017) ... tabbed NFHCA First Team All-Region selection, NHFCA First Team All-State and NFHCA Second Team All-American in 2017 ... three-time Catholic Academy All-Star (2015, 2016, 2017) and First Team All-Main Line honoree (2015, 2016, 2017) ... PIAA State Runner-up in 2015 ... three-time NFHCA Distinguished Scholar Athletes (2015, 2016, 2017) ... member of the National Honor Society and Latin Honor Society ... named to the 2017-18  Annenberg Symposium.

Personal: Lindsay Marie Dickinson ... daughter of Jack and Michele Dickinson ... has a younger brother, Tim ... majoring in biology.

Liz Romano | Midfield | Madison, N.J. | Madison High School

Before UConn: Played four years of varsity field hockey at Madison High School ... accumulated 196 career points (129g, 67a) ... served as captain during her senior season ... four-time First Team All-Conference honoree ... three-time First Team All-State selection (2015, 2016, 2017) and one-time Second Team All-State honoree (2014) ... named First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Group, Daily Record Player of the Year, Mugs Media Player of the Year, NJAC Player of the Year, MAX Field Hockey Top 10 and County MVP as both a junior and senior ... two-time Academic All-American Recipient (2016, 2017).

Madeleine Wray | Forward | Harpenden, England (UK) | Repton School

Before UConn: Led her team to the U18 Club Outdoor National Championship in 2017 ... member of the Repton 2017 Indoor National Champion team and captured the 2017 Outdoor National Championship ... captain of the Saxton Tigers field hockey club (East of England) in 2016.

Personal: Madeleine, Wray ... goes by Maddy ... daughter of Neil and Catherine Wray ... has a brother, Jack ... majoring in marketing management.
