STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut field hockey team was recognized at tonight's women's basketball game for the standout season the squad put together this past fall.
The Huskies posted a 19-3 record in 2011 and clinched their 12th BIG EAST Regular Season title in the last 16 years with a perfect 6-0 league mark. Connecticut earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the 15th time in the last 16 years and advanced to National Semifinal for the 10th time in program history.
Individually, eight different Huskies were named to the All-BIG EAST Teams while Chloe Hunnable was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Year, Jestine Angelini was honored as the league's Defensive Player of the Year and Nancy Stevens won BIG EAST Coach of the Year honors for the seventh time in her Hall of Fame career.
