STORRS, Conn. –
Roisin Upton, former UConn standout, and the Irish national field hockey team continued to roll on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Wales in the semifinals of World League 2 – advancing to Sunday’s final against host Malaysia.

With the victory, the Green Army qualified for World League 3 – the next stage of World Cup qualifying to take place in June and July in Brussels and Johannesburg.

Ireland will play Malaysia on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. (EST) in the championship game, as Upton looks to add another title to her long list of accomplishments.

In four years at UConn, the Huskies won two NCAA titles with Upton patrolling the backline. She was named a two-time Big East Defensive Player of the Year for her outstanding play.
