    STORRS, Conn. – Katherine Baker, Louisa Boddy, Marie Elena Bolles, Chrissy Davidson and Megan Palmisano have each been honored as members of the 2012 Gladiator by SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Academic Squad as announced by the NFHCA on Tuesday. The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2012-13 academic year.

    Boddy, a Second Team All-America selection, made a huge impact in her only year in Storrs, leading the Huskies with 16 goals and finishing second on the squad with 39 points. She also tied for the team lead with six game-winning goals and was honored as a First Team All-BIG EAST selection.

    Bolles, a Third Team All-America selection, finished the year third on the team with 12 goals, eight assists and 32 points. She was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year and scored one of her team-high tying six game-winning goals in the final second of the 2012 BIG EAST Championship Final to clinch the victory for the Huskies.

    Baker and Davidson started all 22 games for the Huskies in 2012, while Baker totaled 11 points on two goals and seven assists and Davidson was fourth on the team with 15 points on two goals and a team-best 11 assists. Palmisano played in eight games for UConn and started in two.
