STORRS, Conn. –
Lindsey Howard, a 2008 graduate of the University of Connecticut and four-time letterwinner in field hockey, has been selected to compete on the 2016 Australian Women’s Indoor Hockey Squad as part of the road to the Indoor Hockey World Cup.

Howard, formerly known as Lindsey Leck, is one of 28 players selected to the team and will have a chance to earn a spot with the Aussie World Cup squad when the tournament takes place in February of 2018.

The former UConn standout has a history of success in Australia. In 2013, she helped the Queensland Scorchers of the Australian Hockey League (AHL) win the league championship for the first time in what was an eight-year drought for the team.

An All-Big East First Team member in 2008, Howard was a two-time All-Region selection during her time with the Huskies. She was also named All-Conference Second Team in her junior season, when she accounted for four game-winning goals throughout the season.

Originally from Clarksburg, N.J., the former UConn midfielder started all 21 games in her senior season in Storrs, ranking second on the team in points with 25. The Huskies were Big East Regular Season Champions that year.

During her career, she helped UConn win three Big East Championships, reach one NCAA quarterfinals and two NCAA semifinals. The Huskies achieved a 77-17 mark throughout Howard’s four years.
