U.S Field Hockey Announces 2010 Junior National Camp Rosters

STORRS, Conn. - Five members of the University of Connecticut field hockey team have been selected to the 2010 Junior National Camp for U.S. Field Hockey to take place July 16-19. Jestine Angelini, Ali Blankmeyer, Rayell Heistand, Cara Silverman and incoming freshman MarieElena Bolles were among those selected.

The U21, U19 and U17 Junior National Teams will be selected with Angelini, Blankmeyer and Heistand competing for a spot on the U21 Team. Bolles is in contention for a spot on the U19 Junior National Team.

Blankmeyer and Heistand were both a part of the 2008 Junior National Camp while Heistand competed with the 2008 U.S. Junior World Cup Team. After a 26-point season, Blankmeyer will be UConn's leading returning scorer. Heistand was a leader on the defensive side of things, recording a team-best four defensive saves.

Angelini spent her first season of collegiate field hockey at Old Dominion, transferring to join the Huskies for the 2009 season. She made a seamless transition, starting 21 of 22 games played and tallying 29 points.

Bolles concluded her career at Villa Maria Academy as a three-time All-State First Team selection and 2009 First-Team All-Southeastern Pennsylvania by the Philadelphia Inquirer as well as the Daily Local Newspaper Player of the Year.
