37 Student-Athletes Earn BIG EAST Academic Honors

STORRS, Conn. - 37 student-athletes from the field hockey and women's lacrosse teams earned spots on the BIG EAST All-Academic Team to close out the 2016-17 season, as announced by the league office Wednesday.

The 2,501 student-athletes in the 2016-17 class are the most honorees in the four years since the BIG EAST Conference realignment.
To be eligible for the honor, a nominee must have competed in a BIG EAST-sponsored sport, attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 for the preceding academic year, and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters of academic work, with a total of 18 semesters or 27 quarter credits, not including remedial courses.
