Sarah Mansfield has been named Big East Defensive Player of the Week for the sixth time in her career.

STORRS, Conn. - Two-time First Team All-American and 2013 Preseason Big East Co-Defensive Player of the Year Sarah Mansfield made 12 saves on 14 shots she faced in leading the No. 4 University of Connecticut field hockey team to 2-1 victories over No. 12 Stanford and Cal over the weekend.
Mansfield has now won Big East Defensive Player of the Week honors six times in her career.
Mansfield made seven saves in Saturday's win over the Cardinal, including two in overtime to preserve the 1-1 tie. She then stopped five shots in the 2-1 win over Cal on Sunday. The Huskies have now started 2-0 or better in each season since 2003.
The Cornwall, England native is now 56-12 in her fourth year at UConn and is only two wins shy of tying Danielle Vile's school record for career victories.
Mansfield and the Huskies are back in action on Sunday, September 8 when the team travels to the Keystone State to take on No. 6 Penn State. Game time is set for 12 p.m. in University Park, Pal.
