STORRS, Conn. - The fourth-ranked University of Connecticut field hockey team will square-off against No. 6 Penn State on Sunday, September 8 in University Park, Pa.  Game time is set for 12 p.m. and fans can follow the action right here on UConnHuskies.com via GameTracker.

PSU enters Sunday’s contest with a 1-2 record after losing 3-0 to Temple on Friday.  Penn State won at Old Dominion in its 2013 season opener but has since lost at Virginia and dropped the aforementioned game against the Owls.

UConn heads to the Keystone State with a spotless 2-0 record after returning from the West Coast victorious over No. 11 Stanford and Cal.  Senior goaltender Sarah Mansfield was honored as the Big East Defensive Player of the Week after she led the Huskies to a pair of 2-1 wins in California.

The Huskies have won seven games in-a-row against Penn State, most recently defeating the Lady Lions by a 2-1 count on August 31 of last season.  UConn also won a memorable game against Penn State in the quarterfinal round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament, which sent the Huskies to their 10th NCAA National Semifinal.
