NEW YORK – University of Connecticut senior captain Chrissy Davidson (West Lawn, Pa.) has been named the Big East Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

Davidson put together a three-point afternoon against No. 15 Boston College on Sunday in Newton, Mass. After a scoreless first half, Davidson connected for the game’s first goal, slipping a shot past the BC keeper Leah Settipane. Later in the half, she executed a beautiful stick-stop that set up Sophie Bowden’s (Somerset, England) third score of the season.

Through five games, the Pennsylvania native is tied for first on the team in points (7) and is one of three Huskies to have tallied at least three goals. In addition to her work on the offensive end, Davidson also has registered one defensive save.

She has been a critical part of the UConn offense which holds a stellar 120-to-46 shot advantage over its opponents this season.
