    STORRS, Conn. - The fourth-ranked University of Connecticut field hockey team will welcome No. 14 Louisville to Storrs on Friday, October 11 and Boston University to the George J. Sherman Family Sports Complex on Sunday, October 13.  The Huskies enter the weekend with a 10-1 overall record, including a 3-0 mark in Big East play. 

    UConn is led by reigning Big East Offensive Player of the Week Chloe Hunnable, who has posted a team-high 11 goals and 25 points this season.  Two-time Big East Defensive Player of the Week Roisin Upton is tied with Preseason Big East Offensive Player of the Year, Marie Elena Bolles, with six goals, five assists and 17 points.

    UConn is coming off its first loss of the season, a 4-3 overtime setback to No. 9 Boston College on Sunday, and the Huskies have not lost back-to-back home games since 2005.

    Louisville comes into Friday's contest with a 10-2 overall record and is tied atop the Big East with the Huskies at 3-0.  The Cardinals are ranked 14th in the country and have wins over Temple, Ohio State, Northeastern, Old Dominion and Indiana.  The team's only two losses came by one goal each to Virginia and Michigan.

    The Cards have three primary scorers as Alyssa Voelmle leads the way with eight goals and three assists while Shannon Sloss has seven goals and 15 points.  Erin Schneidtmiller has scored six goals on the season and is one of 10 Cardinals to score multiple goals this season.

    BU enters the weekend with a 7-4 overall record and is led by a pair of Terriers, Amanda Cassera and Sofi Laurito, who have scored five goals.  Anne Fruitema is also a threat with four goals and two assists for 10 points. 


     

     

    The Huskies are 14-2 all-time against Louisville and have won five-straight vs. the Cards.  UConn is 24-8 all-time vs. the Terriers, winning the last four games between the two squads.

    Huskies Advance to Title Game on Boddy's OT Goal
    Two minutes into sudden victory overtime, graduate student back Louisa Boddy (Derbyshire, England) propelled the No. 5 University of Connecticut field hockey team into the BIG EAST Championship game with a 2-1 victory over No. 25 Louisville at Trager Stadium. The Huskies (17-2) advanced to face Syracuse in the title game Sunday at 1:00 pm. For Boddy it was her team-leading 15th goal of the season.

    No. 5 Field Hockey Makes it 11-Straight With 3-2 Win at No. 12 BU
    Sophomore forward Chloe Hunnable scored a goal and assisted on another to lead the No. 5 University of Connecticut Huskies to a 3-2 victory at No. 12 Boston University on Sunday evening in Cambridge, Mass. With the victory, UConn improves to 11-0 on the season while BU slips to 7-4.
