STORRS, Conn. - Junior goalkeeper Sarah Mansfield has been honored as the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league on Monday. Mansfield, who has led the fourth-ranked University of Connecticut field hockey team to a 15-0 record this season, earns the honor for the second-straight week and third time this season.

The Cornwall, England native has earned the weekly honor five times in her career.

Mansfield did not allow a goal in a 2-0 week, which saw the Huskies improve to a perfect 15-0 on the season and remain the only undefeated squad in the country. Mansfield made one save on Saturday against Georgetown and was removed from the game with 11:32 and the Huskies up 4-0. She followed that up with her sixth shutout of the season against No. 13 Stanford on Sunday.

Mansfield, a First Team All-America selection in 2011, improves to 50-9 over her three years in a UConn uniform and the shutout was her sixth of the year and the 19th of her career.

The Huskies are back in action when they travel to Chestnut Hill, Mass. to take on Boston College on Thursday, October 18. UConn will put its undefeated record on the line at 7 p.m.
