STORRS, Conn. – University of Connecticut field hockey senior captain Chrissy Davidson (West Lawn, Pa.) has been selected as one of 38 seniors across the nation to play in the 2014 NFHCA Division I Senior Game, as announced by the NFHCA on Wednesday morning.
The game will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22 at the University of Maryland. Action is set to begin at 3 p.m.
Davidson, who dished out a team-best 12 assists in 2013, has registered 10 assists through UConn’s first 15 games. The Husky captain ranks first in the Big East and 15th in the nation with a stellar 0.69 assists/gm mark. Her 1.06 points/gm rank 10th in the league.
A 2014 U.S. National team member, Davidson has been one of the most consistent offensive weapons for the Huskies, highlighted by a season-best four points on a goal and two assists in the Huskies’ dominant 8-3 victory over yale on Oct. 19. She has earned the starting assignment in each of Connecticut’s 15 contests.
Davidson and the Huskies claimed a share of the Big East regular season title for the second consecutive season with a convincing 4-0 win over Villanova on Oct 24. UConn can win the conference crown outright and earn the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Big East Championship in Providence, R.I. with a win over Temple in its regular season finale on Saturday, Nov. 1.
