STORRS, Conn. – The No. 4 seed University of Connecticut field hockey team will open 2015 NCAA Field Hockey Championship play on Saturday against Louisville at 11:30 a.m. in the George J. Sherman Family-Sports Complex.
The Huskies will host the first and second round games, which will also include a match between Albany and Boston College on Saturday at 2 p.m. The winners of both first round games will play on Sunday at 2 p.m. to secure a ticket to Ann Arbor, Michigan for the Final Four.
UConn earned an automatic berth by winning the Big East Championship on Sunday afternoon in Norfolk, Va.
The Huskies are making their 14th-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament and have qualified for the event in 19 of the last 20 seasons under head coach Nancy Stevens. UConn is the reigning back-to-back national champion, having won the crown in 2013 and 2014.
