Four Huskies Tabbed Synapse Sports All-Americans

Hunnable named as Second Team All-American

STORRS, Conn.- The University of Connecticut field hockey team had four Huskies honored as All-Americans by Synapse Sports as announced by the organization on Monday morning. Juniors Marie Elena Bolles and Sarah Mansfield were tabbed as First Team All-Americans, while graduate student Louisa Boddy and sophomore Chloe Hunnable were selected as Second Team All-Americans.

The four honorees were recently named to the NFHCA Mideast Region First Team with the All-American teams being announced on Tuesday, November 20.

Mansfield, selected to the 2012 All-BIG EAST First Team, was named as a 2011 NFHCA All-American and 2010 Third Team All-American. Mansfield started in the cage all 22 Husky contests and finished the season with a 1.13 goals against average as she compiled a 19-3 record.

Bolles, the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year, concluded her junior season with 32 points, while Boddy was second on the team with 39 points with a team-best 16 goals. For the second consecutive year Hunnable led the team in points with 41 on her 15 goals and 11 assists.
