    STORRS, Conn. - Senior back Jestine Angelini, who was honored along with six of her teammates as a 2011 All-Mideast Region selection last week, has been named Mideast Region Player of the Year as announced by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association on Tuesday, November 21.

    Angelini is the third-straight Husky to be honored as the Mideast Region Player of the Year. Melissa Gonzalez took home the award in 2010 and Loren Sherer did the same in 2009.

    The Boiling Springs, Pa. native was recently named as a First Team All-American by the NFHCA along with teammate Sarah Mansfield.

    Angelini led the Huskies in assists with 19 and total points with 41 and was third on the team with 11 goals during the 2011 season. The 2011 Big East Defensive Player of the Year, Angelini was also selected to the 2011 NCAA All-Tournament Team, the 2011 All-BIG EAST First Team and the 2011 All-BIG EAST Tournament Team. She has recorded 25 goals and 35 assists for 85 points during her three years at Connecticut.
