Former UConn Skater Rejoins Team as Assistant Coach

University of Connecticut women's ice hockey head coach has announced the hiring of Jennifer Chaisson as the team's new assistant coach. Chaisson, a 2011 graduate and former UConn student-athlete, skated for the Huskies under Linstad from 2007-11.

"I am excited to have Jennifer Chaisson return to UConn," said Linstad. "Last year she did a great job as an undergraduate coach both on the ice and with video. She has outstanding hockey knowledge both offensively and defensively. I think she will have a great impact on the young forwards."

Chaisson, a native of Cumberland, Ont., served as an undergraduate assistant last year, following her senior season; in which she served as an assistant captain. During her career she earned the team's Pat Babcock Award as a senior and was also named the 2010 Hockey East Best Defensive Forward. Chaisson was also a member of the 2008 Hockey East All-Rookie Team.

In her four year career, Chaisson appeared in 139 games. She totaled 27 goals (8th all-time), 57 assists (3rd) and 84 points (4th). In February of 2012, she was honored as a UConn All-Decade Hockey East Team member.
