STORRS, Conn. - University of Connecticut women's ice hockey freshman Stephanie Raithby (London, Ont.) was named the Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week for the period of Feb. 7 - Feb. 13 as announced by the Hockey East office this afternoon. The award is the first of the season for Raithby and the sixth of the year for the Huskies, including the second straight rookie of the week honor.

Raithby, who posted one goal and two assists on the weekend, led all freshmen with three points in the home-and-home series against Providence. She notched UConn's lone goal against the Friars on Saturday, scoring at the 7:57 mark of the first period and came back to post two assists in Sunday's contest.

On the season, Raithby has recorded 12 points on six goals and six assists, ranking second among freshman in goals and third among her classmates in assists. Her two-point showing on Sunday marked just the second game this season that she has posted multiple points, also doing so against Sacred Heart back in November.

Raithby and the Huskies will conclude the regular season this weekend as they play a home-and-home series with Northeastern. UConn will first travel to Boston, Mass. for a 4:00 p.m. contest on Saturday (Feb. 19) and will then host NU at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 20). Sunday's contest will also serve as Senior Day for the trio of Jody Sydor, Jennifer Chaisson and Brittany Murphy.
