    Linstad, Snow to Participate in 2003 USA Hockey Women’s Festival

    STORRS, CT (July 22) -- University of Connecticut women’s hockey head coach Heather Linstad and senior captain Stefanie Snow (Nashua, NH) will both participate in the USA Hockey Women’s Festival in Lake, Placid N.Y., from August 12-18.  Snow has been selected as one of 43 athletes that will be split into two teams and Linstad will serve as the head coach of one of those teams.

    Linstad, who will enter her fourth season at UConn, also served as the head coach of the National Festival in the Olympic selection year of 1997 and also in 1998.  Last summer, Linstad coached at the USA Hockey Junior Development Camp for 14-15 year olds in Rochester, NY.  Linstad boasts a career mark of 186-121-34 in her three years at Connecticut and eight years at Northeastern.

    Snow, a defender, will enter her third year at Connecticut after transferring from Minnesota after her freshman year.  Snow has grown into the leader of the young Huskies, serving as captain her junior year and she will keep the title this year.  At UConn, Snow has registered five goals and nine assists for 14 points while serving as the keystone of the UConn defense.
