HAMDEN, CT (Nov. 3, 2000) -- Freshman Natalie Phelps (Willington, CT) scored four goals and added one assist Friday night as she led the University of Connecticut womens ice hockey team to a 7-2 road victory at Quinnipiac University in the first-ever collegiate contest for the Huskies.

Phelps scored an unassisted goal to give UConn an early 1-0 lead and she added three more scores in the third period as UConn pulled away for the victory.

Also scoring for the Huskies were Laura Scarpa (Niantic, CT), Carla Prince (Middletown, CT) and Melissa Bailey (West Hartford, CT).

Sophomore goalie Diana Cohen (South Salem, NY) played in net for UConn stopping 10 shots on goal. The Huskies outshot the Braves, 39-10.

Next up, the Huskies travel to Boston, MA to face Boston University on November, 11. The contest is slated for a noon start.
