    STORRS, Conn. - Boston University used four first period goals to defeat the University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team, 6-0, in exhibition play in Boston, Mass., on Nov. 11.

    Tracey MacKenzie opened the scoring at the 3:52 mark of the first period. Amy Mortrellami, Molly Griffith and Jillian Jakuba all netted goals of their own in a five minute time span also in the first period. Lindsey Stockholm added another in the second and Liz Teitzman capped of the scoring midway through the third stanza.

    UConn's Natalie Phelps (Willington, CT), who has led the Huskies so far this season, sat the game out at the request of the coaches. Diana Cohen (South Salem, NY) stopped 23 Boston shots in goal for Connecticut. BU outshot UConn 29- 10.

    Connecticut will play Manhattanville College on Sunday afternoon at the UConn Ice Arena in Storrs at 2:00 p.m.
