    Women's Hockey Falls To Bates College In Exhibition Play

    STORRS, Conn. - Elizabeth Cunha scored a third period goal to lift Bates College over the University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team, 3-2, on Sunday (Dec. 10) at the UConn Ice Arena in exhibition play.

    Allison Keen opened the scoring with only 3:06 gone in the first period to give Bates the 1-0 edge. UConn's Hollie Stephens tied the score at one at the 14:00 mark, only to have Keen tally her second goal of the day over a minute later.

    Melissa Bailey tied the score at the 2:11 mark of the second stanza keeping the Huskies in the game. Cunha's goal came midway through the third period for the Bates victory.

    UConn's Diana Cohen (South Salem, NY) stopped 29 of 32 Bates shots on net, while Lindsay Gary earned the win for Bates making 10 saves.

    UConn is off until January 10 when they travel to Rochester Institute of Technology for a game slated to begin at 7:30 p.m
